The Bipedal Walking with Rolling Feet robot can perform wheeled locomotion using a wheel mechanism, walking locomotion using a walking mechanism, and combined locomotion that simultaneously performs both of them like roller skating.
This allows the robot to change its movement method depending on the environment: wheeled movement for moving on level ground, walking movement for moving up stairs, and compound movement for avoiding obstacles during wheeled movement.
Our goal is to develop a robot that can move while efficiently overcoming various obstacles.
