Prof. Hikaru Arita’s paper on avoidance motion of manipulators using areal distributed proximity sensors has been accepted and published in Advanced Robotics! The paper describes a manipulator’s avoidance maneuver against an obstacle using a flexible areal distributed proximity sensor sheet attached to the entire manipulator link.
